Follow the leader? Which leader? THAT leader?

PR... Spin doctoring...Propaganda.
It's starting to grate my nerves and it's so big that it's incredibly exhausting to fight against. Have you seen the Barack Obama Song? It's called "We are the ones" by someone called "will.i.am"

Really one of the catchiest song you'll ever hear. It's the kind of rousing chorus that would make you stand up, cheer and believe in whatever THIS was tied to. Complete with hip musicians, attractive multi-racial nobodies, top celebrities, gospel choirs. It's fully completely baby.

But break this down with me...
"Basically ummm I would just like the wars to end"
Good luck with that one
"I think the thing that inspires me the most about Obama is that he really is going to be the president of the United States."
Aim high!
Theo Huxtable spoken: "o-ba-ma... o-ba-ma"
Theo was dyslexic though so that shot took 8 takes to get him to stop saying "AM-AB-O"
"He's almost like a revival... I believe in Obama"
"Lift your hands and say... Obama"
Yikes. You scare me now. Those are bad things my dear happy, attractive, multi racial, dimwitted, Nimrod, psuedo-acquaintances. I understand that what we have is a political machine on sensory overload. But Romans 12:3 says:

...Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.

Understand me... Obama is NOT Hitler. Few are. I even like some of what Obama is/does/says... and he is currently at the mercy of a political machine... but WARNING... this type of propaganda is used for one reason... it works. Like this...

He even made a sequel. Kinda went to his head though.
If you think that a charismatic national leader will stop war and will save you; Matthew 24 is a really good read. (1-6)

Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. "Do you see all these things?" he asked. "I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down."

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"

Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ, and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

It's a a foolish faith to put our eggs in the basket of someone or something incapable of producing the results that are MOST desirable. It will leave us all feeling empty.

People are jaded with politics?
Think polititions are liars?

It's not the fault of politics. It's an average to descent system we've come up with gives us those very results. It's not the fault of the leaders either. Sometimes I think that polititions should start shooting lower.

How... in the world... will poor Barack Obama live up ending war, making the environment safe, and starting a revival of souls?

Jesus for President

“It’s easy to have political views – that’s what politicians do. But it’s much harder to embody a political alternative – that’s what saints do. The greater challenge is right living, not just right thinking. In Jesus we meet not a presentation of basic ideas or a new political platform, but an invitation to join up, to become part of a movement, a people who embody good news.”
